NIA Chief Sadanand Date to become DGP of Maharashtra?

The Director General (DG) of the National Investigation Agency (NIA) Sadanand Date is said to be way ahead in the race of being the Director General of Police (DGP) of Maharashtra. He is supposed to succeed incumbent DGP Rashmi Shukla, who is due to superannuate on December 31. Date is a 1990-batch Indian Police Service (IPS) officer of the Maharashtra cadre. According to information, his tenure on return Date will get 2  years tenure.
